▲ On the edges, there are sheet control codes and the imprint of the printing house of ENSCHEDÉ as well as thematic inscriptions and the emblem of the event.
This postage stamp on the topic of the Chess Olympics 2008, held in Dresden (Germany), shows five kings on a map. Two of the kings are placed in the Karabakh part of the map because two members of the Armenian chess team (Vladimir Akopian and Gabriel Sargissian) have "Karabakh roots". In November 2008, the Armenian men's national chess team won the gold medal in Dresden. The winning team consisted of Levon Aronian (5.5 points on board 1), Vladimir Akopian (8.0 points on board 2), Gabriel Sargissian (9.0 points on board 3), Tigran Petrosian (7.5 points on board 4) and Artashes Minasian (substitute for Levon Aronyan, won 1 point during the 3rd day of competition). The real winner who earned the most deciding points was Tigran Petrosian.
